‘ALL IN’: Reconciliation WA Takes the Conversation to the Heart of the Regions for 2026
BOORLOO (PERTH), WA – Reconciliation WA has officially launched its 2026 National Reconciliation Week (NRW) program, headlined by the national theme: ‘All In’.
This year’s program marks a historic shift in the State’s reconciliation journey. As Western Australia enters its bicentennial period (2026–2029), Reconciliation WA is moving beyond the metropolitan centre, taking the lead on a statewide truth-telling that stretches from the Kimberley to the Great Southern.
A Statewide Call to Action
Running from 27 May to 3 June, NRW2026 emphasises that reconciliation is not a symbolic gesture but a shared responsibility focused on action. This year, the signature NRW Breakfast will be held simultaneously across three hub locations on 27 May:
Boorloo (Perth)
Kinjarling (Albany)
Nyiyaparli Country (Newman)
To ensure the ‘All In’ message resonates statewide, all major keynote presentations and cultural performances will be broadcast live via NITV and SBS On Demand, supporting local Watch Parties in metropolitan, regional and remote communities.
Australia’s First Place-Based RAP Shaped in WA’s Great Southern
In a landmark reconciliation moment for the State and Nation, the Kinjarling (Albany) breakfast will host the launch of the first place-based Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in Australia. This national first has been co-designed alongside the local community to support genuine self-determination. It demonstrates what is possible when regional communities, Elders and First Nations organisations lead the agenda, ensuring reconciliation is embedded across diverse communities.
This milestone also reflects the long-standing partnership between Reconciliation WA and Reconciliation Australia and signals a major step forward in strengthening the national reconciliation movement.
Honouring Tradition and Truth in the Regions (October – November 2026)
The 2026 program sees the return of the Walk for Reconciliation in Goomburrup (Bunbury), continuing its vital role in regional truth-telling on 22 October. Further south, the focus on Kinjarling (Albany) as the site of the first colonial settlement continues with a dedicated two-day truth and healing forum on 25–26 November, serving as a model for regional reconciliation.

Nolan Hunter and Debra Zanella, Co-Chairs of Reconciliation WA, believe this year’s National Reconciliation Week theme is both an invitation and a call to action:
“Being ‘All In’ means moving beyond symbolic gestures and committing to meaningful participation. It recognises that reconciliation is strongest when individuals, organisations, communities, and leaders actively contribute, listen, lead, and learn together, across Country.
Reconciliation is a shared responsibility, grounded in trust, truth, and mutual respect. It challenges us to address root causes, not just symptoms, and to act with purpose within our own circles of influence. Together, by being All In, we can create lasting change now and for generations to come.”

Reconciliation WA CEO, Jody Nunn, noted that regional engagement is the heartbeat of this year’s National Reconciliation Week program:
““From Breakfasts on Nyiyaparli Country (Newman) and in Kinjarling (Albany), to launching the first Great Southern Place-Based RAP, returning to Goomburrup (Bunbury) for the Walk for Reconciliation, and hosting Pathways to Truth in Kinjarling, our work across the regions shows that reconciliation is being led where it matters most, in community. This bicentenary journey must reflect regional voices and truthtelling. We’re not just talking about reconciliation in Boorloo; we are All In across the State.”
Reconciliation Australia CEO Karen Mundine, recognises the important partnership and work from Elders and leaders in the development of the Great Southern Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
